Scoliometer

LKK Design | Client Consultant Project

JUN 2024 - AUG 2024

Background
Hospitals in China rely on tablets for charting, imaging review, and bedside communication, but most consumer tablets weren’t designed for clinical use. Standard cases can be slippery and fatiguing to hold, and they offer limited protection against drops and repeated disinfection.

Concept
The client proposed a protective case and handling system for a medical tablet, built around the tablet’s pre-given measurements. The design also maximizes protection for the screen and internal hardware, extending the device’s lifespan in demanding hospital environments.

Grip, Comfort, Stability

Designing a medical tablet for hospitals in China was the first assignment given to me at LKK with comfort, grip, and stability as the core priorities. The outer case uses a range of silicone textures to improve handling, while maximizing protection for the screen and internal hardware to extend the device’s lifespan.
